If you have traveled down the Oak Ridge turnpike from Clinton in the past couple of weeks, you might’ve noticed something different, The welcome sign going into Oak Ridge from Clinton has a new sparkle! Keep Anderson County Beautiful as well as Willow Ridge Garden Center, and two community minded young men from Oak Ridge High School WildBand. William (Ford) Griffith will use the volunteer time to fulfill Tennessee Promise hours, and Thaddeus Jones will use his to move up a rank in Boy Scouts.
This sparkle started with a conversation among Keep Anderson County Beautiful board members about what we might do around the area and it came to the attention of the group that the sign needed attention. So the group recently met and lay down new dirt and rocks and planted new plants cleaned up around the area and cleaned up the sign. Keep Anderson County beautiful is responsible for many sparkles around Anderson County. And with the help of two community service-minded young men, the sign is now a little bit more beautiful entering into Oak Ridge. Thanks to Willow Ridge garden center for providing the dirt and rocks and plants. Thanks to Chris from Willow Ridge for designing and promoting this project. Mark this spark completed!
